All about Rowcroft

Rowcroft is an independent local charity, heavily reliant on the funds raised by the community it has served since 1982. The hospice itself is based in Torquay, yet its services provide care for the wider community in South Devon. Rowcroft’s care covers 300 square miles, from Slapton to Starcoss.
Rowcroft provides specialist and tailored end of life care, whilst looking after families and carers. This care is provided in a multitude of ways from the point of diagnosis and continues until a bereaved family no longer feel the need for Rowcroft’s support. Whether a patient visits our inpatient ward or cared for by our various community services, there is one aim to the work of the hospice; to ensure everyone receives the highest quality care and make every precious moment count.
Rowcroft must raise over £4.3million pounds a year to continue providing its care. Less than one third of our costs come from the NHS and Rowcroft is indebted to the community of South Devon whose ongoing generosity keeps the hospice open.
Look at how your sponsorship can help:
- £4.50 will provide food and beverages for a patient on the ward for one day
- £15 would fund one hour’s nursing
- £85 would pay for a visit by a member of Rowcroft’s community team, enabling a terminally ill patient to stay at home
- £450 would provide 24 hours of care for a patient in Rowcroft’s ward
